This park makes a good lunch stop. The river access is not the best (the configuration of the paths makes it difficult to carry a boat to the water), but parking is available. In 1865 an iron furnace was built at the site to use the ore that came from the nearby hills. The furnace’s massive rock chimney is still visible today. Here Oswego Creek flows into the Willamette, contributing relatively warm, nitrogen-rich water from the lake.
