Whitely Boat Ramp
While this access is not fancy by any means, it is fairly tranquil and is situated on a wonderful small Willamette River backchannel. In summer flows, the channel is typically passable by canoe, although it can be shallow. The small parking lot may be frequented by locals, with most people just enjoying the peace of the river. This small backchannel is only a few minutes’ paddle from the mainstem Willamette, and deer and other wildlife can often be seen in this area. Lane County Parks requires a permit for day-use of this parking area which must be purchased in advance (541-682-2000). You can also pick up one of these permits at the Eugene REI or Bi-Mart.
