A large property suitable for camping on the gravel bar or the upper bench above the gravel bar. Primitive trails can be found around the property.

  1. There is small gravel beach a small party could camp on, or up on the bank a large flat area – some distance from the river. This area is popular with motocross riders and ATV riders who have made dusty trails all over the place.

  2. Camp two (previous night at Norwood Landing) on our way from Harrisburg to Independence. Found a nice spot to camp on the left bank almost all the way around the bend. Algae mat was thick elsewhere. Easy access, nice place to swim, camped in the sand. We did see the ATV tracks, but it was quiet when we were there.

  3. Great camping on the gravel beach. The sharp bend in the river makes this spot feel pleasantly private and enclosed. Fish were jumping all evening.

  4. Small gravel beach right at the beginning or high bank farther down look best. All ATV tracks toward the middle.

  5. Back again to this favorite place during our eclipse voyage. Water seemingly a bit higher this year. Camped on the left in the gravel at the far end of the bend. Nice place to swim. Owls talking to each other in the early evening as fish jumped all around. If you miss this spot (or if it’s full), don’t worry: Riverside Landing, just below on the right at RM 125.5, has some fine spots too.

  6. Visited as a rest stop during a trip from Corvallis to Hyak Park. Nice grassy campsite on a bench above a small, unappealing gravel beach. Picnic table pictured here was missing, as was the log book.

  7. Tried visiting today on my dual sport motorcycle. The entrance is blocked with a locked gate posted with keep out signs. Wondering if it is private property now.

  8. Sounds like the university has some farm land there and that is why the land entrance is blocked off. Only accessible by water.
