This island has great scenery, a shallow and flowing back channel, and multiple camping options. The best camping is along the mainstem side anywhere on the large gravel bar, or tucked inside the backchannel at the upper end of the island.  This island is big enough to support some nice bird and mammal activity. Watch the pilings at the opening of the back channel. Also, the current can push the unwary paddler toward the bank. If camping in the backchannel in the summer, be aware you may hear some nearby irrigation equipment running intermittently.
